Apple really screwed with a lot of their customers by putting a recessed headphone jack on it instead of the usual 3.5mm jack - I can imagine they alienated a lot of the early adopters who'd bought expensive headphones for previous iPods, only to discover they couldn't actually use them with their new phone.
